Webcam failures

We are currently experiencing problems with a number of webcams at the observatory. The cameras off line are Road cam, Teide cam, Dome cam, Pier cam, Pole star cam, Teide star cam, and Puerto cam.

We are currently working to diagnose the problem and restore the cameras to operation as soon as possible.

The off line webcams all share a common video switch box and image capture device. The current diagnostic information is pointing towards the video switch box being the cause of the problem. Our next step is to have the observatory maintenance team perform further on site diagnostic tests to confirm this.

Once the source of the problem has been identified we have a number of options to return the web cams to operation; I will be talking about these options in another blog post later this week.
